    4th of July Celebration

    Come celebrate the 4th of July in Poultney!

    Festivities start with the annual Martin Devlin 5K Memorial Fun Run to benefit the Rutland Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice. Race registration is between 7 and 8 A.M. and the run starts at 8A.M. at  the Green Mountain College Gym. For further information contact race organizer Tammy Loomis (802) 645-9135.  

    At 12 p.m. the 4th of July parade kicks off in East Poultney at the Green and continues down Main Street and College Street to the  Elementary School where there is a fun filled day of  family activities. This years events at the Elementary School include; Face painting, a Magic Show, a puppet show and much more. The days activities will be followed by the exciting traditional Poultney fireworks display at dusk.

    • East Poultney Day 2010!

    • Celebrate some of the town’s heritage Saturday, August 14th, on the Green in East Poultney. Century Schoolmaster will conduct class in the 1791 Union Academy, while British Army disturbs the peace with musket fire. Vendors offer crafts, traditional demonstrations, needle arts, slate splitting and candle making. Sponsored by Poultney Historical Society.
