    Annual Chili Cookoff, Farmer’s Market Food & Craft Fair & GMC Family and Friends Weekend

    Saturday, September 25th- The annual chili cook off will take place on Main Street. This Rotary Club sponsored event consists of more than 25 contestants vying for the title of “Best Chili Chef.” Come and sample some of the tastiest chili around. For information contact (802) 287-9987. The Farmer’s Market will also be holding its annual craft and food fair on this day. Welcome family and friends of Green Mountain College. There will be events for family weekend at the college throughout the day for more information contact GMC at 802-287-8000.

    • Celebrate some of the town’s heritage Saturday, August 14th, on the Green in East Poultney. Century Schoolmaster will conduct class in the 1791 Union Academy, while British Army disturbs the peace with musket fire. Vendors offer crafts, traditional demonstrations, needle arts, slate splitting and candle making. Sponsored by Poultney Historical Society.
