Poultney Chamber of Commerce - Things to Do

    Bicentennial Nostalgia Night

    September 20, 2011
    6:00 pmto6:30 pm

From 6:00 until 6:30 PM at the Tiny Theatre, it’s Nostalgia Night with Tom Hughes! He will show us snapshots from the 1961 Town Bicentennial parade (from GMC to the East Poultney Green) and copies of the August 1961 articles in the Rutland Herald, documenting the Poultney 200th.  Do you remember the house tour, the helicopters on the ballfield beside PHS, the remarkable parade floats, the music, the displays?  Whether or not you remember Poultney in the 1960s (as career historian Hughes does), you will be interested to hear how our 200th was celebrated 50 years ago.
