Rotarians for Chili Cookoff 2013

Poultney Rotary Club

“Service Above Self”

For over 85 years, the Poultney Rotary Club has been a community service organization made up of local business, professional, and other service-minded volunteers, contributing to and providing direct assistance to projects and causes in Poultney and around the world. Our activities continue to support annual school grants through our Community Dinner held in March, scholarships to graduating seniors, community and state-wide organizations, the Red Bird Mission, as well as Rotary International work efforts on clean water and schools in Honduras, housing solutions in the Philippines, and the core Rotary effort to eradicate polio.

As a service organization, the club continues to reach out and include a greater number of individuals within Rotary. All age groups from age 12 and up are represented in Poultney. The Interact Club helps to model service to community for students ages 12 to 18 and is seeking new members to serve.

Poultney Rotary Club also sponsors a Rotaract Club, a service, leadership, and community services organization for men and women age 18 – 30. Meetings are held on the Green Mountain College campus and are open to all.

In the coming year, the club hopes to continue or grow its efforts to provide service and assistance to the community. Rotary International and Poultney Rotary Club are seeking new membership models to create ways to match the needs to our resources. The theme for the coming year internationally is “Light Up Rotary.”

If you are interested in learning more about Rotary as a means to engage with the community and ignite your spark for service, consider coming to a meeting. The club has an active range of committees that report to its Board of Directors, meeting monthly, and a general membership at the weekly meetings held Thursday at Tot’s Diner at 7 a.m. The Club may also be reached by mail at:
