    There are Amtrak train stations in three towns near Poultney, these towns are Rutland, Fair Haven and Whitehall.

    The Whitehall, NY (WHL) train station is part of the Adirondack route which travels from New York Penn Station in New York City to Montreal. The station is a platform with a shelter located at Main Street and Saunders Street. The station is about 13.6 mile or 26 minutes from downtown Poultney.

    The Rutland, VT (RUD) and the Fair Haven, VT (FHV) train stations are part of the Ethan Allen Express route which travels from New York Penn Station in New York City to the Rutland station in Vermont.

    The Rutland station is an enclosed train station with a waiting room, located at 25 Evelyn Street. The station is about 20 miles or 30 minutes from downtown Poultney.

    The Fair Haven station is a platform with a shelter located at Depot and Water Street. The station is about 6 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Poultney.

    • Celebrate some of the town’s heritage Saturday, August 14th, on the Green in East Poultney. Century Schoolmaster will conduct class in the 1791 Union Academy, while British Army disturbs the peace with musket fire. Vendors offer crafts, traditional demonstrations, needle arts, slate splitting and candle making. Sponsored by Poultney Historical Society.
