Annual Maple Fest Celebration and Tours!
2016 Maple Fest in the Making!
The leaves are drifting slowly down from the maple trees, and it won’t be long until snow blankets the hills. But before the trees show signs of green again, the Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding Maplefest 2016!
This year’s celebration of the beginning of spring will be held Saturday, April 2nd, 2016, all over Poultney, and it will be bigger and better than ever.
The event is in the planning stages, but there will be a fun run, pancake breakfast, tours of maple sugar houses, horse-drawn wagon rides, maple story time, video of the maple process, a craft fair, a basket party, and a maple supper.
And of course a chance to sample sweet treats like maple fried dough, sugar on snow, maple sugar candy, and spun maple gold.
Right now the Chamber is taking sign-ups for the big craft fair which will be held from 10 to 4. First come, first served on the available inside space, but sign up early because it won’t last long! For an application for the big craft fair, contact Mary Lee Harris at Stitchy Women, Main Street in Poultney at 802-287-4114.
