This is a not-for–profit organization dedicated to improving the economy and general community life of Poultney. It is staffed by volunteers. The PDRC played a major role in securing the Designated Downtown status for Poultney's downtown area. Achievement of this status has aided in the town receiving grants to reconstruct and restore the Stonebridge Inn and to improve the street scape of Main Street. The PDRC oversees a series of Task forces resulting from the community visits of the Vermont Council on Rural Development.
