    Poultney Fish & Game Club

    Meets on the Third Thursday of each month throughout the year. Guests such as the Vermont Commissioner of Fish and Wild Life occasionally speak at meetings. The club holds its annual game supper in December on the Friday evening before the opening of the muzzleloader hunting season and the annual ice fishing derby on Lake St. Catherine is the first Sunday in March. Members can use the club’s rifle shooting range, which has 50, 75 and 100 yard targets. It holds a fishing derby for children the first Sunday in June at the Poultney Valley Club and sponsors attendance of local youth at the Kehoe Conservation Camp on Lake Bomoseen each summer.     • East Poultney Day 2010!

    • Celebrate some of the town’s heritage Saturday, August 14th, on the Green in East Poultney. Century Schoolmaster will conduct class in the 1791 Union Academy, while British Army disturbs the peace with musket fire. Vendors offer crafts, traditional demonstrations, needle arts, slate splitting and candle making. Sponsored by Poultney Historical Society.
