Potluck Luncheon followed by a video shown on the large tv screen; the video, entitled “POBL Y PAITH, People of the Prairie: The Welsh in Nebraska”, has been given to us by the Great Plains Welsh Heritage Project. The video has many beautiful scenes from Wales in it as well as from the Great Plains regions of our U.S.A.
Many Welsh emigrated from villages in the north sections of Wales and also went to Nebraska; and some from our slate valley region went there also.
Bring a luncheon dish to share. The St. David’s Society will provide coffee, tea, plates, napkins, utensils and a lemon dessert cake. If you’d like to bring a dessert, that is certainly fine too.
If you have a favorite coffee or tea cup, please bring it with you to use – and take it home with you after the luncheon.
(Sunset on that day will be 4:37 p.m. so that should give a fair amount of daylight hours for those who need to travel and don’t like to do so in the dark after the gathering ends.)
